Mr Neil Haldar is a leading urological surgeon based in Buckinghamshire. After graduating from King’s College Medical School with numerous prizes, Neil joined the Oxford surgical training program. Awarded the Royal College of Surgeons Allinson Foundation Research Fellowship, he undertook his Master’s degree in transplant surgery in Oxford, leading to a number of prestigious publications and awards. Neil completed his higher surgical urology training following which he undertook visiting fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic and in Nantes, France developing his specialist interest in laparoscopic urology. Neil became the Clinical Lead in laparoscopic urology and Urology Cancer Lead at the Buckinghamshire NHS Trust.

Neil is well-published in most aspects of urology, with a current focus on researching Enhanced Recovery Surgery. His main clinical specialties include bladder, prostate and kidney cancer, as well as paediatric urology. He is considered an expert in minimal access surgery, being one of the first surgeons in the UK to perform a single incision laparoscopic nephrectomy and pyeloplasty.

As one of the nominated Thames Valley Cancer Network pelvic cancer surgeons, he carries out nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer with excellent cancer-free and continence rates. He works closely with a multidisciplinary team that, in addition to surgery, also offers radical radiotherapy, brachytherapy and chemotherapy.
