Mr Ian Currie is an internationally recognised Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality healthcare to women globally. His NHS practice is based at the Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust, where he is the Divisional Chair for Women and Children’s Services.

Ian has a broad gynaecological practice treating women from puberty to the menopause and beyond. He is well renowned for treating pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, infertility, endometriosis and cysts. He has extensive experience in vaginal reconstructive surgery and post obstetric birth trauma. He strives to provide support and education to women of all ages and values a patient-centred approach, providing his patients with clear explanations and guidance.

Ian was elected Vice President for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists from 2012-2017 and now serves on the Board of Trustees. This highly prestigious post ensured that he is at the forefront of clinical expertise in his specialty. He has contributed to many aspects of national initiatives in women’s health, including chairing two recent working parties. He was also on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) incontinence guidelines development group, which form the basis of management for this condition across the UK.

As a respected clinician, Ian has extensive media exposure on radio, print and TV. He has several publications and articles for leading journals and has received the maximum Clinical Excellence awards from his Trust. He is often invited to lecture abroad in countries as far afield as Somaliland, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Malaysia and Singapore.
