Mr Andrew Huang | MB ChB BSc MS FRCS (Gen Surg)

Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon

Mr Huang is a consultant surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust with a specialist interest in colorectal surgery. Having obtained his medical degree with Honours and winning the top prize in surgery from Manchester University, Andrew undertook his initial surgical training at St. Mary’s Hospital, London, later becoming a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons, winning the Penrose May Prize from the same institution in 1996.  After obtaining his Master of Surgery degree, Andrew completed his specialty training in general and colorectal surgery in 2004. He then spent a further time at St. Marks’ Hospital, The Hospital for Intestinal and Colorectal Disorders, London,  and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, gaining further experience in treating and operating on complex colorectal conditions. On his return from Canada, he spent an additional year at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit, Guildford, a laparoscopic fellow.

Andrew specialises in various conditions, including bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, haemorrhoids, anal fissure & fistula, constipation, faecal incontinence, rectal prolapse and pelvic floor disorders. He is recognised as being one of the top surgeons in the UK by volume for bowel cancer surgery with excellent outcomes. Andrew is also an expert at surgery for inguinal, femoral, epigastric, umbilical, incisional and recurrent hernias, as well as gall bladder surgery for gallstones.
